“There seems to be a lot of uncertainty and ambiguity about what it means to be a church that is spiritually corrected and biblically grounded in our 21st century context.

Fear not; God is still in charge of our world and our church.  I write to encourage you to consider pulling away from the chaos without having to leave home, leave the church or using up your vacation time.

In October you will have that opportunity by participating in a Month of Prayer and Grace co-hosted by EVUCC and First Baptist Church of Highland.

We may not be able to quiet the whole world, but as men and women of the faith, we can quiet our souls and renew our minds as we journey with a spiritual companion for four weeks.

On Sunday, October 14, 2-3:30 p.m., you are invited to gather at EVUCC in Highland. Throughout the month, you will be invited to pray privately each day. You will also be assigned a spiritual companion who you will meet with for one hour on Thursdays each week at First Baptist at an agreed upon time.

On Sunday, November 11, we will meet at EVUCC for our celebration and conclusion from 2-3:30 p.m. More information can be found at www.momentsofgraceandprayer.org.

There is no fee. Suggested donation is $44 or whatever you can give to cover expenses for materials and cost of this ministry. Anything given over $44 helps to cover costs for others.

You may not be able to change the whole world, but this set aside time with God in the midst of everyday life holds within it the possibility of changing you and your world.”
