Education & Discipleship
Educational/Discipleship Opportunities at Highland Hope
Discipleship/Christian Education / Sunday School
Christian maturity is all about growing in Christ and the process of becoming and making disciples. Highland Hope features many discipleship opportunities.
We have a fine Sunday School program which at present includes three adult classes, a Men’s class, Middle School and Senior High youth classes, and children’s classes. Our Vacation Bible School program serves both as a disciple building activity and an outreach to the community as well.
Learning is an important part of Christian development for all ages, children through adults. We hope to guide some of that learning, so that all may faithfully serve God.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School is the foundational strategy in our church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building Christian disciples for the purpose of fulfilling the “Great Commission.”
Bible study groups engage people of all ages in corporate worship and fellowship, nurture one another through discipleship and ministry, and reach out to those who seek the Lord by sharing His love with them.
CHILDREN
The Children’s Ministry includes newborns through 6th graders. Our goal is to help our children learn God’s Word and God’s love. They learn through interaction with each other and with our teachers, through Bible stories, crafts and other activities.
We believe that school age children, beginning in pre-kindergarten, benefit greatly from attending Sunday school.
The children’s classes are as follows:
Preschool- Kindergarten
1st – 2nd grade
3rd – 4th grade
5th – 6th grade
YOUTH Sunday School
Our overall goal is to impact the social and spiritual life of not only our youth, but the youth of the Highland area, as well. The youth at Highland Hope are encouraged to embody the eternal values of worshipping God, of nurturing others, and of leading people to become lifelong students of Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to “Encourage our Middle and High School youth to become fully committed students of Jesus Christ.”
The youth are divided into two groups:
Middle School (Grades 7- 8 )
High Shool (Grades 9 – 12)
ADULTS
The adult department provides classes for all adults, age 18 and above. The classes that are offered vary in focus from time to time.
Thru The Bible – John Pruett
This class is a discussion style designed to get participants into the Bible.
Target group: men & women of all ages
