Music Opportunities…

The music ministry Highland Hope is a dynamic one, so it changes from week to week. Here is a snapshot of where we are today, but if God leads us in a different direction, we’ll be somewhere else tomorrow!

PURPOSE: The purpose of the Music Ministry is to provide music for both services at Highland Hope. Knowing that there are many times when music has the power to reach people when words alone are not enough, we believe that music can have these effects: To prepare people to worship God, To worship God, To bring God’s people closer to Him, and To teach God’s Word. Currently, the Music Ministry at Highland Hope includes the following:

Music for Collective Worship – In Psalms, we are encouraged to “make a joyful noise to the Lord.” We are fortunate enough to have a core of dedicated individuals who play the piano, keyboard, or guitar so that we may join together and worship God by “making a joyful noise.”

OPPORTUNITIES:

We would like to add more accompanists to our rotations for our weekly service and emergency back-ups.

Highland Hope Ensemble - The Highland Hope Ensemble provides special worship music for the Celebration service. The Ensemble’s music tends to be more contemporary in nature than a traditional choirs, although the range of music is quite broad.

While our practices focus on learning music, we also bring our laughter and concerns to place in God’s hands. The Ensemble meets every Wednesday during the school year at 7:15 pm at the church. New members are welcome at any time.

OPPORTUNITIES…

 
SPECIAL MUSIC - We have been blessed with many talented musicians of all ages in our congregation who are willing to share their talents with us. From vocals to instrumental performances, we are able to call on a wide variety of musicians to be a part of our worship services.

If you are interested in providing special music, please let one of the Music Ministry team (listed below).

READER’S THEATER - About once a year, or sometimes twice, we perform a Reader’s Theater (dramatic reading). The Reader’s Theater often includes musical selections.

INTO THE FUTURE…

While these areas of ministry provide many opportunities for participation and worship, we would like to add more. Some of the areas we have discussed are: Instrumental Group(s) to perform for special services.

NEEDS:

Individuals who feel called to lead and organize a group or groups.

Instrumentalists, Children’s and/or Youth Singing Groups to provide special music either at special services or on a regular basis

Individuals who feel called to lead and organize a group or groups.

Participants to sing Drama Team to add more types of drama to our services
