UMCOR Flood Buckets and Donations

We are now collecting items for the United Methodist Committee on Relief’s work in areas where there is a need. UMCOR goes in after floods and in other situations to provide help that is desperately needed.

Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, IL is our local donation facility that provides UMCOR with the kits needed. They package and ship flood buckets, personal dignity kits, school kits and many other things needed after a disaster or in ongoing mission. Click on their name above to learn more about what they do.

Highland Hope is currently focusing on flood buckets (cleaning kits).  You can donate any of the specific items to help build a kit. Volunteers at MMDC will put your donations together with others to make complete kits and ship them to where they are needed.

They are also asking for monetary donations to assist in the procurement of items for personal dignity kits and to offset shipping costs. If you want to give this way, make checks to Highland Hope UMC with Hurricane Harvey in the memo line. These can be placed in the offering on Sundays or in the mailbox in the Welcome Center on other days. You may also give through our online giving portal.  Click HERE to give online.

Let’s stand in the gap! You may place your donations in the barrel in the Welcome Center.

Highland Hope is also accepting monetary donations to be used through UMCOR
which guarantees that 100% will be used to aid those in need
as administrative costs are covered from another source.
